Streamline Computing is pleased to announce that Ben Ralston is the first of three members of the company's Advisory Board.
Ben is currently at the UK's Atomic Weapons Establishment in Aldermaston where he joined in 2003 as Head of Computer Science. Ben left University with a DPhil in Computational Chemistry and then wrote FORTRAN and led software projects in the UK and Germany for the scientific consultancy Logica. In 1979 he joined Cray as one of their first two application tuners in Europe and helped them enter their first non-government markets until joining IBM as they re-entered the supercomputer market where he was eventually responsible for UK Academia. He retired after 18 years with IBM to take up his current role.
As a member of Streamline's Advisory Board, Ben will reflect market needs and trends and offer advice on the company's tactics and strategies to ensure that customer and partner expectations continue to be met through Streamline's offerings and that the latest technologies are being appropriately introduced into the high performance and complex computing markets.
“We are delighted and honoured that Ben has agreed to join the Advisory board" said Steve Ashurst, Commercial Director at Streamline Computing. “Ben has long been a respected member of the UK HPC community and brings with him a wealth of experience and insight that will help Streamline serve their customers as the impact of HPC broadens in the future"
